Since April 2000, the department has been headed by Irina V. Since July 2011 the chair fits into the structure of the Faculty of Economics and Management. It allows to perform the department’s tasks, prepare for classes, carry out research, advisory and educational activities at the workplace.During the period of the department’s functioning its structure has changed and expanded significantly. Development of innovative activity of the teaching staff is carried out with the help of computer- training, supervising and teaching tools of the new information resources generation.Currently the department has 20 people, including 2 doctors of economic sciences, professors; 1 doctor of economic sciences, associate professor; 15 candidates of economic sciences, associate professors; 1 senior teacher; 2 senior laboratory assistants. In 1991 the Department of Scientific Fundamentals of Management was renamed as the Marketing and Management Department. Methodical literature for students of correspondence courses is combined in 127 electronic teaching blocks on basic disciplines of the department.
Originally it was the Department of Scientific Fundamentals of Management. During this period the teachers trained students in specialty «Management» and the department gained the status of a graduating one. There students can find questions useful for preparing for their exams (credit tests), guidelines on control (course) work fulfillment, tasks for independent work, lists of useful references, exercises for practical lessons, textbooks on the studied disciplines and programs of instruction.Over the past three years, the teachers of the Marketing and Management Department published more than 30 textbooks.
